Position Description:
The Manager, Training & Education is a new position within the lean, aggressive and successful Marketing team.
The Intransa VideoAppliance™ Academy provides sales and technical education and training to Intransa's ecosystem of sales people, technical team members, manufacturer's reps, distributors, dealers and integrators, as well as a wide range of end user physical security customers. In order to keep up with customer demand, and to develop and deliver a successful channel enablement program, the Academy is moving from reliance primarily on temporary assignment of Product Management, System Engineering and R&D/Engineering resources for program development and delivery to a dedicated Manager, Training & Education.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate to create, deliver and grow a critical functional area within one of the fastest growing companies in physical security and high technology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Intransa VideoAppliance™ Academy education and training portfolio, as both an individual contributor and as a cross-functional team leader.
Duties & Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Channel Enablement
- Develop, maintain and deliver outward facing education and training in support of Sales, customers, and the partner ecosystem.
- Enablement of the member companies of the partner ecosystem, ensuring they understand the benefits, features and value of Intransa's products and services, and how they are applicable in physical security and other market needs.
- Support corporate Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Technical Marketing, Customer Support and other internal departments for web training, webcasts, and customer/partner events.
- Set program requirements and track compliance and program completion by students and organizations.
- Responsible for performing miscellaneous duties related to training and development for the Intransa VideoAppliance™ Academy and/or Intransa Marketing requirements.
- Develop through matrix management competence in other Intransa departments to deliver technical and other training as required, as well as internal and partner train-the-trainer programs.
Program Development
- Define, tune, manage and deliver the Academy portfolio of self-paced and instructor-led web based training, as well as classroom instruction modules with face to face delivery to a wide range of students.
- Manage the diverse input of customers and sales ecosystem partners, as well as internal Intransa Sales, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Finance, Engineering and other corporate stakeholders to generate, implement and manage the Academy's portfolio.
- Be the go-to resource for customer and sales ecosystem partners, as well as all company departments for educational and training needs.
Sales, Marketing & Business Development Support
- Manage corporate tours and visits of customers, ecosystem partners, suppliers and others to the company's Cupertino HQ and R&D center.
- Develop, manage and deliver product demos at HQ for basic product features and capabilities.
- Work with corporate team members and revenue and technology partners to identify and pursue revenue, licensing and other market opportunities.
- Participate in the Marketing budgeting process, managing expenditures for assigned programs/projects and presenting future budgetary requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will offer all or much of the following:
- Outgoing, positive and creative personality required, with a high energy level. The ability to cope with the challenges of frequent travel and a fast moving corporate environment, while constantly striving to deliver quality education and training is key to success.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate previous success in the creation and delivery of customer and partner education for advanced technology products.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required, with strong time management abilities.
- Requires 2 years plus training and/or appropriate technical experience in video surveillance, industrial video or similar complex markets required.
- Past experience with an IP surveillance software vendor (Milestone, OnSSI, Pelco, etc.), surveillance camera manufacturer, video analytics provider, a DVR/NVR or other physical security vendor, or in related technologies in a similar training, education or technical role required.
- Understanding the physical security ecosystem, and how to leverage and support channel partners and/or distribution partners through channel enablement is required.
- Physical security industry certifications (ASIS PSP or CPP, etc.) and/or training credentials are preferred.
- Solid project and time management skills, computer competence and the ability to use media effectively are required.
- An understanding of corporate and business etiquette and the ability to ask the right questions to understand and capture training needs is essential, as is turning that input into useful and appropriate education.
- Requires information search and research skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, ability to question and seek feedback, with a customer orientation and an overall commitment to quality.
- International experience, supporting the educational and training needs of partners and customers outside of North America, is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required.
Advanced technical degree, teaching credential &/or an MBA a plus.
Travel Requirement:
Travel up to 50% of work time can be expected during some periods of the year. Passport required for international travel needs.
